Vellamo Village - Cozy Medieval Town modular kit project

This was my first adventure in the stylized world, and I surprised even myself with how much I enjoyed it. The original goal was to create a modular environment kit that would allow me to iterate buildings in the largest possible number of variations and quickly build entire cities.

As this cozy, calm, slightly fairy-tale-like world began to take shape in my hands, I noticed how harmonious the entire process was, and I found great joy in it. Meanwhile, from a design perspective, my primary goal was to create my own visual language within the stylized genre and make everything cohesive - the rest just pulled me along. 😀

Secondly, I tried to follow every professional and technical criterion in order to work as efficiently as possible. As a result, the modules can be assembled with a high degree of freedom, I created one texture ID for each major category/group, everything is game-ready and runs great, and I tried to enhance visual diversity through vertex painting, foliage painting, good placement, and the addition of many small details.

Furthermore, I should mention that Tobias Hofmann accompanied me on this journey as both a friend and mentor, from the very beginning to the very end. He is also responsible for the lighting, and by sharing his vast professional experience, he continuously kept me on the right track and helped me enormously in working at the highest possible quality. Many thanks to him - and be sure to check out his page as well https://www.artstation.com/mob
